So I sold a 95 Monte Carlo that was in my way and the guy who purchased said he was picking up another purchase prior to mine. When he arrived this is what was on the flatbed IMG_20170129_192810.jpg

Could have guessed all day and would not have pictured that showing up. Appears it had always been blue. He was taking it home for yard art. The frame was rusted in two in front of rear wheels. Shame, Olds hurse from 73 are scarce.

Yeah, Olds used to build 'service' vehicles at one time. A damned shame it was going for 'yard art;' it needs a frame-off resto with a new frame install and be glorious again.

"Yard art?!" Hope it's a big yard. Sure the neighbors are thrilled. What a waste. What was he going to do with the monte?

We've had friends with yard art. But most have been Model T's, Model As, and some 30's cars or truck parts. I can't picture that hearse being anyone's yard art. Maybe a chicken coup or a place to store junk, but not yard art. That wouldn't look good out behind the barn!:stirthepot:

You would not be able to find another frame for that, 'off-the-shelf' as it were. That unit has an extended wheelbase.

Then I would build one. I'm sure it was a matter of cutting and splicing it, and likely where it broke. Hell, maybe it's even repairable and could be strengthened.

Just don't look like the type hearse worth dieing for. Too common looking. Make a better parts car and storage area for other junk.

There you go. And as far as looks, even when it was new, it wasn't all that ordinary. Let's face it, when was the last time you saw an Olds cop car?

Hadn't thought of that. Still, what are the chances of finding the Correct Cadillac limo frame?

Yard art??? Did he say anything more? Will he add anything to it...

I wonder if he has other yard art? Basically it was already yard art it's just being relocated. So he does have interesting ideas and it's kinda being saved and enjoyed just gonna be al natural.

    Congratulations on the sale.
