Hello All, This is both a wanted ad and an introduction. I have been afflicted with a love for wagons or at least my wife says afflicted. I had a 2004 V70R, purchased when I was 28, but sadly had to sell it, due to maintenance concerns with foreign cars. Thankfully I am a classic car fan (or more simply an anything with wheels and an engine fan) and now somewhere in my feeble brain a love for wagons, Fords, car shows, the ability to be a stay at home dad (with the need to truck around 3 boys with lots of there friends) and classics cars have finally met. Thus, with my wifes, blessing I have begun the search for a 65 or 66 Ford Country Sedan/ Squire 6 + 4. I need this car to be a good daily driver, because being a stay at home dad doesn't give me much time to restore a vehicle, but does permit some moderate tinkering and maintenance. Thank you, Jeff
Welcome to the forum. Someone should be able to help. Your location might help too so we know where to look.
65, 66.....not cheap if they are a driver. Do you want a cherry? Cosmetics an issue? I don't want to ask you your price range, but, these don't go real cheap anymore if they are in real good shape.
Don't want a cherry, I would like cosmetics to be decent, but I want to use this wagon the way it was intended and don't want to hesitate when I go Lowes for some plywood and sticks. Silverfox, I know they seem to be going up in value, so I figured I better get in now, before I can't anymore. Also, I posted in the wanted section. I am located in NJ, but I am willing to travel for the right vehichle.
How about mine? It's listed in the For Sale section of the Forum. This is 100% complete, and needs nothing. $20k if you pick it up.
Unless you are absolutely trying to stay with the stacked-light square cars (65-67), there is a decent driver 64 Country Sedan on eBay right now. Bidding currently just over $3k with no reserve. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford...511QQitemZ220778837265QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks I have a 66 Ranch Wagon I bought on eBay a year ago, and I look on eBay almost daily for parts, and other Fords wagons of the same vintage for comparison purposes. It seems that 65-67 Ford wagons show up there about once or twice a month. Country Sedans seem to come up more often than Squires. In the past couple weeks, auctions closed for a 66 Ranch Wagon, 65 Country Sedan, 65 Country Squire, and 67 Country Sedan. The 66 Ranch was pretty nice and didn't need much. The other three definetely could have used some attention, but they looked like they would have been decent enough driver cars. Hope this helps.
im in the process of buying a 66 Country Squire...but i think i'll be keeping it (ive got a hoarding problem) hopefully some of the guys down south can help ya find one!! to the treefort
Jeff! Cute story. Most of that vintage come with an Engine Fan! J/K... Try this search engine. I think you'll like it. Where's Sienna? (New Joisey - read the post later.) http://www.jaxed.com/cgi-bin/mash.c...ys=1965&ye=1968&ps=&pe=&pgs=100&submit=++++go++++
@Stickman, once I find something we'll have to get together. I may be headed your way this weekend to look at a Buick. I know I said I was looking for a Ford, but I've always loved the styling on that vintage Buick as well. @Stormin Normin, "an engine fan", bad grammar. A wonderful trait of mine. Maybe I should have paid more attention in skool. I found jaxed a year or so ago. I use it a lot for my boat restorations, it's awesome. BTW, thank you, everyone for all the support. Also, even though I have always sworn off GM products, I'm finding it hard to resist the urge to look at a 65 Buick. I will be going this weekend to look at it.
