    Ehh, I always thought it was for short people. And I never liked the width overhang, I thought it just looked cheap with that.

    I always thought of them as cartoon cars - I would love to have one. I'd drop it on an S10 frame, small engine, and play with it. Looked at one a few years ago but it turned out to be far less than advertised with a price based on someones B-J dream car.

    The "width overhang" was because, up until 1954, the front wheels were skirted (enclosed) and a slighter narrower tread was needed. When they opened up the front wheel openings for the 1955 and 1958-60 models AMC did not widen the track. It would have looked better with a wider track.
