The Speedo in my 60 Chevy is black face with white numbers. I have change out all the other gauges and they are all white face with black numbers.
This morning, I met a bunch of classic car guys for a 100 mile cruise. I left the house and about a mile down the road, the speedo started grinding and when I looked down at it, the needle fell off.
Before I try to fix the OME, I took a quick look on the Internet but did not see a replacement speedo with a white face.
    Anyone seen one?

Classic Industries has a set of gauges, but the Speedo is not sold separately.

Thanks. A good vinyl graphics/sign shop could probably digitize that to scale and reverse the images, then print it on vinyl to install. Pretty much what Doghead posted above. I don't think it would be too bad to do.

Just thinking out loud. someone out there may already offer them, but I doubt it.

Looking closer at the design I see what you mean. If it is printed on vehicle wrap vinyl, heat can be applied to conform it gently to that concave surface. I have wrapped a motorcycle gas tank before with complex surfaces.

Who is the dude here that has a sign shop? I can't remember. OK enough for now I'll lay back down.

If the numbers are on the plastic, it shouldn't be too much trouble to remove the white paint, then paint them black. Or, even, contact the manufacturer, see if they do black-painted numbers for a white gauge face.

If anybody could hand paint those numbers to a quality where no difference is visual to the naked eye, that person could just as well counterfeit money

Yeah, you're right. I need to change the color of the back-plate. Paint it White then paint the numbers on the lens black. I wonder if that will work out at night...

I guess it all depends on how the gauges are lit. Does it have backlighting (through the gauge face) or theater/opera (bulbs are placed around the gauge faces) style lights for the gauges? From what I recall on our '67 Chevy the gauge faces are solid and the lighting came from theater style lights. If that is the case then what you want to do should be feasible. I know I wouldn't want to try to paint those black numbers though.
