Yeah, your rite guys, .... It churned my guts, and I'll admit I was emotional when posted. I still am emotional.....take what i say as a guy who is ticked rite now......

It has not even made the local news today but this happened in July...last year and I only found out froma friend in Alberta!

Whistler BC Canada!! 100 Dogs, Huskeys witch were dog sled dogs were shot dead in 2 days and buried. Not all dogs died instantly. There are ...well at least were other links that described pure cruelty. Strange how in the time I posted many other links to this were online but are no longer available.....
    why???

After the Olympics times got touph so they shot the sled dogs, the Huskeys..because as mentioned things didn't turn out $$ wise. I have to many personal opions, I won't comment other than ..It's NOT in the news local rite now, the trash company does not except email any more but still does advertise....links I found don't longer work..???????????

What 442 said. X 10. Killing any dog like this and for this reason had to be done by a non-human. And, while I love all dogs, I especially love those loyal and hard working sled dogs. Those dogs will run until they die for their owner. Seriously, put me in the same room with the guy that did this. Seriously.

This was actually on the 6:00 news on Global last evening. It is actually unthinkable that this happened and the way they tried to pass the buck as to who was in charge of the decision making, it makes me furious that these folks feel it was all justified
    RRRRRR:mad:

Sorry Tedy, I didn't open your link I was afriad of what I might see. I just scrolled down and got the gist...RRRRRR:mad:

domesticated dogs by nature need and want human companionship.
what kind of person can look at a dog and not feel compassion.
this is the level of evil much akin to the abortion doctor that was arrested here in Pa 2 weeks ago....ill spare you the gorey details as i dont want to steal big daddy ted's thunder here.

From what I have heard on the radio there "entire" licence has been suspended.

Some of you mite remember I posted about a puppy being killed n hotle room X-Mas eve, the radio said today the culprit was sentenced to serve 6 months in jail. I guess time will tell when it comes to 100 dogs.

This was posted on a working dog forum I help moderate.
Absolutely disgusting how it was done.
Not to stir the pot her but shooting "can be" a humane way of disposing of a dog/horse/animal. It happens all the time on farms.
The first problem here is It shouldn't have been needed. There are to may way of getting rid of dogs. That may be through sales, rescue or even humanely putting them down. Absolutely NOT my first choice.
The real crime was how cold and casual it was. Many of the dogs were shot with no concern to making an efficient "kill".
The "people" should be hung by their nuts!!!
We've all had to take our much loved pets to have them put down.
Dogs are a HUGE part of my life. I've trained dogs in many, many different phase of dog training out there. In the past 50 + yrs I've had 18-20 dogs. Always 2-3-4 at a time.Tears were shed with every one of them. I'm down to two GSDs now. AT 65 they may be my last dogs although I doubt that, Good Lord willing! I'll shed tears over these two when the time comes. They are family!
Not all look at dogs/animals as pets. That's their loss but I do understand how things can be done humanely and this wasn't one of those ways!

Hey, Fat....when you first posted this it reminded me of a great movie I saw and I wanted to post the name of it here so you could be sure to see it if you already haven't. BUT.....I couldn't remember the name of it. Lo and Behold....it came on TV last night! The name of the movie is "Eight Below". You have to see this movie. I thought of the dogs in this movie when you started this thread.

A friend of mine majored in animal sciences and interned with a sled dog tour company in Wyoming. The owner raced and treated his race dogs like kings. However my friend said the tour dogs weren't fed enough for the amount of calories they burnt and were treated rather poorly. He didn't stay long because he couldn't stand to see teh suffering of the dogs. This isn't unique. Look at the greyhound racing industry, dog breeding industry and horse racing industry. Animals that don't make the cut are tossed away like trash.
