So being bored with TiKi and not having the money to do ANY of the mods i want to do, i decided to let her go to another home ..maybe one with more money.

If you recall, before Christmas i attempted to swap TiKi for a 68 chevy c10 stepside that was an ex navy truck. the guy decided against the swap. well in February he called me out of the blue and asked me if i would sell TiKi outright. I said yeah and he came to look. well, despite his wifes protest he offered me $4200 and after much himming and hawing (and consulting a couple used car dealers i am friends with) I accepted. we agreed that we would me here on the following saturday to sign the title.. because Jenn was on it we had to meet in Ellwood because the notary agreed to let her sign early they would hold the title till saturday. well saturday morning...10am (a half hour before they we suppose to meet me) he called and broke it off claiming his sons car broke and he would have to use the $$ to fix his car. So i put TiKi on craigslist at $4700 or best offer.

FF to saturday (day before yesterday) I get a text as i was out replacing the drivers side inner door panel on her. "hi... i saw you buick on CL can i come look monday?" so i said sure Im off... come any time.
he showed up at 930 am in a gmc sierra Denali...spent 10 min looking at the car. I pulled her out of the garage ..offered to let him and his buddy drive it (they were in their 50's or so so i knew they werent punk kids) and he said..no thanks i dont need to. (at this point i figured they were gonna bail) he reaches into his pocket and pulls out cash and says can i offer you $4200. I said " i accepted a previous offer for $4200 and i figured its only honest to accept that but i will not go a penny lower" he looked at his buddy and said " we arent going to have to do any repair work with this one" he looked at me and said ..."deal!" handed me cash. as as i was cleaning all my stuff out of it we were talking. he and his buddy own the corvette shop in New castle Pa and TiKi was going to be their new shop project. so i know she is going to a good home. .....now
what to look at? I have $4200 to work with.
I am looking at a 1961 CJ5 on saturday. F-head 4 cyl top speed of 50mph on flat ground (can add OD if i can find one and maybe hit 65mph)

on friday i am looking at a 1980 K10 stepside
    [IMG]

and I already looked at a 1953 dodge Coronet 4 door sedan.
I dont have a pic of it. but it hasnt been on the road since 07 (in a climate controlled garage) it isnt perfect but probably could be made into a cruiser with a brake cyl rebuild and a fuel system flush. (the guy who owns it was bored with it and just parked it.) ...maybe tires too.
a 53 coronet ..looks like this only this one is light blue

Ian - can we consider this an 'invite' to go CL and E-bay vehicle shopping for you?

(Frankly, I don't think we could come up with anything better than what you find.....)

Yea...sorry to disappoint ....but no april fools here. I tried getting a wagon off of my buddy to no avail. he has a 56 ford ranch wagon that is from nevada. The interior is shot...an I mean gone! And the paint burned off years ago leaving a cool patina. But it runs great and has a 3-on-the-tree with o/d...yeah he wants 10 grand for it...so forget that.

That's a great lookin' wagon a1a but I definitely understand the getting bored part. I need to do some work on my '55 but can't seem to. Need to get some parts to finish what was a quick wagon build, 2 years ago. That is what brought me to buy my '77 C-10 a few weeks ago, needs nothing major and keeps me busy "tinkering" Funny I managed to complete 2 projects for other people but none for myself. :banghead3:

Good luck with your search for your next project!
