Heres a recently finished moel I just finished up for a diorama I'm currently working on . I took Revell's 1966 Chevell wagon and combined it with parts from that to create a stock wagon . Then I took yet more pieces to do a 283, 3spd Po- manns version . I still need to do some 1966 Virginia licence plates for it . The sticker on the windshield is a then semi annual inspection sticker . Yep, had to inspect cars TWICE herein Virginia then ! Ed Shaver
Do you use a lot of miniature tools to make parts (small lathes, etc.)? I get some tools from Micro-Mark sometimes. Great catalog.
Did you use Revells El Camino hood for the stock hood on this Ed? I saw a brown one like this on MCM a few weeks ago, now yours getting me to want get moving on mine.
Jon , you will need an entire El Camino kit to do a stock Chevelle wagon ! First even the frame in the Chevelle kit is NON STOCK . You're going to neeed the frame, rear axle , hubcaps , seats, grille, hood, air cleaner , and several other misellanious parts . Just take the Wagon body and go from there . You're going to have to cut the console and the floor shifter out anyway . I didn't spend a lot of time on this kit . I probably spent more time trying to match the G M Aqua Marine Green more so than doing the kit . Ed Shaver
Nice job, eshaver. The color you picked was a very popular one back then. I'm loving that it's a correct factory color from that year. Very nice.
Uh thank ya , thank ya vurury a mucha .......... Ed Shaver I actually was in the body and fender business back then too
Eshaver, if you really want to make the Chevelle wagon realistic, put some black wall snow tires on the back of it. I used to hate that, when people would get black wall snows eventhough the car had whitewalls. Alot of folks did it back then to save a little buckage, but it always ticked me off.
