I've been offline for the last while tending to a sick pet. As strange as it may sound for a grown man, my rabbit and I have been very close for 7 years. She refused to let anyone touch her and no one wanted to take her home. I picked her up out of curiousity at the time. When I she bonded with me within seconds and fell asleep in the palm of my hand I had no choice but to take her home. We've been best buds ever since. Every year she takes ill with a gastrointestinal problem. This year it's been particularly bad. After a couple of days worth of nursing I wound up taking her to the vet. They found that she had a number of issues afflicting her all at the same time. She's been in the hospital now since Monday absolutely terrorizing the staff there. They keep telling me that they've never seen a rabbit anything like her. I just got a call a few minutes ago to say that she's in much better shape and we should be able to bring her home tomorrow.
Cyber, some grown men have a heart and feelings. If I had a sick bunny I'd be worried too. I was going to tell you we are hoping Peter Rabbit gets well soon. My wife said perhaps SHE'S called Bertha Bunny. Good luck!
Looks more like ah cat then ah Pesky Widow Wabbit Strange how we bond with critterz aye? Glad you're getting him-her back home soon.:2_thumbs_up_-_anima Jer
Since my rabbit was a Lop eared breed I cleverly named my new friend "Leo the Lop". After her first visit to the vet we discovered that we had a Cleo instead.
She's been behaving much like a cat while at the animal hospital. The techs are getting slapped and sprayed. They've dubbed her "The Queen" and the techs have an intricate set of instructions for how to open her door without Cleo telling them that they're doing it wrong. She's quite a handful for anyone but me. I'm pretty excited to have her coming home again. I've walked up to her cage several times over the last few days to check her food and water and say Hi only do remember that she's not in there.
Way back in the early days in central Illinois before zoning, my brother and I, grade school, had a very large white rabbit and large duck pets. Maybe I shouldn't mention this. The rabbit and duck ran away............from locked pens! Coincindently we ate rabbit and duck a lot the next week!
Glad she's on the mend CW. We used to have a "Fancy English Spot" named Trix who was a real sweet-heart. They're part of the family.
Glad she is doing better...I understand, I am not a cat person...I have 2 cats and 2 dogs. They all have nice plush beds and are spoiled rotten...I think pets choose us, we don't choose them!
Good to hear that Cleo is on the mend, love her color. She looks like a sweety. Kinda nice that she is giving the staff a bit of a hard time she must be missing you too. Usually when pets start fighting back they are feeling beter.
THE MRS and I are really excited that she's coming home. Apart from one business trip quite a few years ago and an overnight stay at the vet once, Cleo and I have never been apart for more than 24 hours. I visited her twice this week for about 10 mins or so but that's it. I can't wait to go and pick her up tonight.
Yippy! What a lucky Wabbit. Make sure you go get her with the station wagon and slip a Bugs Bunny video in the player. Tha That's all Folks!
I'm so glad you are getting Cleo back where she belongs. Sounds like the vet techs will be glad to see her home, too! It is amazing how some animals have ONE person with whom they bond, and all others are just there to be bossed around. My first female beagle was very much like that. Hell on 4 little legs! Enjoy Cleo! Make sure you spend lots and lots of times with her.
