I'm lost....but I'm old so what's new! Long story A discussion last week where Norm posted a number of car sites to view. One of the sites was Fastlanes in St. Charles Missouri, about 10 mins from my house. I "think" it was Silver Fox that asked about me going to look at a Malibuick wagon they had there. Orange and white with buick side moulding and port holes. I got to it today. VERY nice wagon from paint to interior to undercarrage. It was featured in Super rod magazine in 2001 and pictured again in same in 2002. Built 350 chevy (nice cam lope) It had a few trophys in the back from different car shows and the ONLY thing I saw wrong was a tear in the drivers seat. They told me it was owned by a large man but the seat could/would be fixed. They have their own full restoration/customizing shop and had 20-30 very nice cars inside a nice building. Vetts, cobras, many old and newer customs but all top level cars. I started the wagon (badass sound with a mild rumpety cam in it) and they asked if I wanted to drive it a bit and put it on a rack to look it over better. Not having the time I had to pass. They were asking 16,000. Not sure how wagons are valllued but this was nice. BTW, the Buick "trim" and "Port holes" were actually a very nice airbrush rendition but I had to be damn near on top of it to tell. I've looked everywhere (but where it's at) trying to find the post. :banghead3: Of course after this post I don't need to find it now.
Fast Lane.... is more like a museum that updates the inventory slowl; very nice place to visit. Was there exactly one year ago during a road trip in a 66 Riviera GS: http://s293.photobucket.com/albums/mm50/E-B-M-P/160/?start=all (lots of photos taken in and around Fast Lane on the last 1/4 of that page) A few month later I was there again and found other cars which were at least as interesting as the ones that were sold in the meantime. Next trip to MO will be by the end of April; Fast Lane will be one of my goals again
There are some nice cars there. Unfortunately this isn't one of them: http://bransonauction.com/carlist_p...r=make, model, year&otherparameter2=&offset=6 While I'm sure the builders did a great job, an Accord woody done like this is just not something I cannot bear to witness.
Mannn....I swear.....I would like to live inside that garage with just those cars to keep me company. It would be heaven. Sans the Honda, of course.
SF, you don't like it? Shortly after the Flex came out, I hunted all over the internet to find if there was a wood kit for it. Finally, I found a place not from the dealership that was doing it and I kept bothering my boss, (who owned the store), to let me get one done. I almost had him convinced when he decided to close the dealership, (it had been in business since 1935), instead. Bummer. I was going to get it on a white one. I think it looks really cool, but each to his own, that's for sure.
I think if you look beyong the freeken ugly blue it mite be a nice looking woody, in black etc but that blue is
OK, I have no photo shop skills but I think you'l get the idea. I like the idea but the colour and wood style did'nt do it for me, I think this would look better. PS, I am a Ford guy but that wana be woody ford looks like crap.
The blue is the only thing I like at all about that wagon. Though I think the color would look better on a 50's mildly customized wagon.
That's the wagon but not the place. I'm guessing Fastlane bought it from the Branson Auction (Branson Missouri). Looks like Fastlane also doubled the price on it too. It is a very nice wagon!
"Museum that updates" Good description! They have a pretty good turnover of cars there. Nice gift shop..........and the owner's wife is about the hottest 50 yr old on the planet. She'll hold her own with any 30 yr old. Did I say that with my outloud voice? .........
