Getting a little closer to getting my dad's Malibu on the road. He worked on it a couple days while I was at work. He had to fight with the headers for almost a whole day before they would fit but Saturday we got the pulleys and belts set up on it after 4 trips to the parts house for the right belt. Anyway here are some pics of progress.
E gads that motor is beautiful. How about you just take the fenders and hood off and drive it like that?
Funny you say that, I went and picked the motor up at the Fed Ex terminal. I put it on the back of my dad's dodge. Next morning he was gone in his other dodge truck and I still had keys to the one with the engine in the back So I took it to work for a little show and tell Well my dad came home from work early to unload it and I had it...He did a little show and telling me when I got home with it!
We took the day off from picking up branches from Isaac and decided to work on the car. We started it up today for the first time. Don't know who was smiling more, me or my dad!
Most of us don't even care if the stinkin engine runs right now. We are so happy you guys are okay!!!!!!! Oh, yea, it's a Chevy. I knew it would sound sweet!
That had to make you guys feel good -can't wait to see some video of it running! That dude is gonna be mean!
Had the day off for Labor Day today so we worked on the car again today and I actually drove it down my road and back still have some wiring and exhaust to do but we rigged up some pipes to the headers so we could get it a little quieter until we can get it welded but a few more good days we may have it done now have to find some time between work and everything else going on...more updates to come
Only some minor details to finish up but she is ready for the road as of yesterday. It will be tagged this week. New exhaust yesterday and it is unbelievably quiet thru the new turbos. You can hear the fans over the exhaust so we are pretty happy and it has a great rumble taking off. I took my girls for a short ride yesterday after I cleaned it up! The last picture is a picture of the exhaust tips I salvaged off a 2012 Chrysler 200 that was wrecked and got a new muffler, so I cut the tips off the old one. They laugh at me at work with my salvaging and dumpster diving!
