Mine should be back on the road this week.
Lookin good. Congratulations. Can't wait to see it all done. Did you have to wait long to get it done. Most of the places I've spoken to have a long waiting list just to get in.
Well if you can tell by the pics it's a metal shed lol not a big body shop. Being done by a guy in the middle of nowhere KY that I know who I have seen a few of his cars and does good work.
I checked a few body shops local including one a highschool buddy owns and it was BIG bucks and they really didn't want the work as they make too much on insurance jobs.
This guy has had it a few months but that doesn't bother me.
Fletch, my favorite photo is the second one, with the spider web in the hole for the taillight housing.
Sometimes the best work is performed by guys in metal sheds.
She's looking good, I've done a few body & paint jobs in my crowded garage (on my own cars) and one or two even turned out ok.
had the headliner done as well and new dash insert arrives any day
I can't find the rear window seal anywhere. I also was only able to get tailgate to drop and the door handle outside is frozen so can't open.
It's never ending I guess.
Nice. Is the headliner completely new? Or did they reuse the original and reinstall? Did they take out the metal trim pieces along the edges (I think they are called "garinsh moldings") to install the headliner? The reason I ask is because I pulled these pieces off a few weeks ago (to access the rear speakers) and broke every single plastic clip holding them in -- there was no way to remove them without breaking the clips, and they are impossible to find. So I am curious how they were able to reinstall those.
Also, regarding the rear window seal, are you referring to the window sweep that attaches to the door itself? Or the weather stripping that goes around the opening? If the window sweep, I bought the one from Steele Rubber. It is definitely not as robust as the original (it's actually much shorter) but is the only thing I could find. My original was totally cracked.
They did a complete replacement of the liner and I was given a price of $200 if I brought them the liner out of the wagon or $500 if they did the whole thing and they shared they don't care either way but they mentioned the clips and their tools and experience and the inability to ever get new clips and so I paid the $500.
That is the window piece and looking into it now. Thanks
