    Hello,

Wanted to jump in and introduce myself. I enjoy station wagons and especially love the Drag Racing wagons that have populated stock and super stock over the years.

I have been building and racing Pontiacs for over 25 years and presently race a 1968 GTO in Stock Eliminator.

However the last Bracket car I built and raced was a 1978 Lemans Safari Wagon. Removed the v6 and installed a 462 Pontiac. The car ran 10.70s and was a lot of fun.

I am now building a 1967 Tempest wagon for strip action. I should say rebuilding as this old girl will need a lot of help.
The first foray was rebuilding the tailgate as it has a electric window and it would not come down which means the tail gate would not open.

Secondly I learned how hard tailgate parts are to find. I did find a 1965 Olds wagon and a 1968 chevelle wagon in a junkyard and bought the tailgates off of them to use for parts.

I thought I could use the chevelle wagon tailgate stuff to convert mine to manual but no dice. Anyone needing 68 chevelle wagon tailgate parts or 65 olds wagon tailgate parts I have some left overs.

Tail gate is done and the window works like knew. Next up is fabricating rear 1/4 panels.

    Thanks
    Don:)

Sounds like nice car you're building there. How fast are you planning to go with this one? Will it be ready for Norwalk in August?

    Thanks for the Welcome

Thanks for the welcome. Not sure yet where I will end up with the 67 wagon. Stock and Super Stock are out as the only engine I can run is a 326. I tried to get NHRA to allow wagons in SS/GT. No luck there. I am considering Nostalgia Muscle car or Nostalgia Super Stock and will continue to plead my Case with NHRA. I have attached some photos 1 of the old 78, During a engine change One of my 67 in the shop with the marathon tailgate project and picture of my goat. Looks like a nice Red Racing Wagon. Was glad to find this forum.

    Thanks:bouncy:
    Don
