Extremely rare even when new, 64 Buick service car by Flxible . This was about $7300 new in 64 ,about twice the price of wagon or van . Estimated production was 2- 4. just purchased it from the original firm that bought it new. Company started around 1902. By the late 50,and 60 ,s wagons and vans took over general hauling duty's for equipment . has a/c which is also pretty unusual for this type of vehicle. It is based on a 4dr sedan and not a wagon as you would assume.

Most interesting car of the day. Why a Buick ? Was it less expensive than a Cadillac version even though the Caddies were made in much larger numbers ?

You could buy these conversions in Buick, Pontiac, and Cadillac that I know of. Not sure if Chevrolet or Olds had them, but I wouldn't be surprised. Cadillac conversions were definitely more expensive.

I really dig the 1964 era California black commercial license plate. You almost never see those anymore like you do with the automobile version.

It was cheaper than a caddy, but still expensive about $7300 in 64. You could have bought 2 wagons or 2 vans for that money. 71,00 miles. Thanks

You didn't have to go far to pick it up - just a quick trip across the desert to Lancaster........drive it home?

    Beautiful vehicle!

Tags are out old tires, etc been sitting 10 + years. Had it towed. The vin on the registration has only 4 digits. They used the Flxible serial # not the vin. Will be interesting to what happens when I change it into my name.

I'll say a prayer for you. California, lately, has been pulling immoral things to get more money out of people. If you do, commercial or not, you should do what it takes in order to keep those original plates.

You can keep the plates as long as you pay the commercial fees, because of the age probably will not be too bad, if not I ,ll just keep them an get new plates .You are supposed to turn them in but they would get lost before that happens. :stirthepot:

Dan, did you notice the difference in that Flxible brochure photo, showing a '63 Buick? It looks like YOUR roof is even a bit higher than that one. Comparing the 'arch' of the front door window frame starting at the 'point' of the vent wing, in the photo, the flat part of the window frame seems about 2 1/2" above that point. On yours, it looks to be about 3 1/2"........
