painted chrome wheels?

Anyone here have chrome wheels that were painted? I mean painted over the chrome, not sandblasted, just sanded. Just looking for some ideas, cause my chrome wheels have some rusted pitted spots(some bad)and
I was wondering what I can do with them without spending a lot of money. Oh yeah, the wheels are the Supreme classic 5 star wheels. Thanks for any help!
