My mom would kill me if she knew I had this photo of her on here, but it was the ONLY photo I could find of our old '77 Plymouth Volare' Premiere wagon.... this photo was taken in granpas driveway in 1992.... this car was not very old then, well, 15 years old, but it was still like brand new. Dad gave it to granpa in 1993 and then he practically gave it away in 1995 when the gauges stopped working. I have no idea where the car is now... I have not seen it since 1995. Its probably been crushed.
Nice picrture, I've owned 2 of those. 1 just like your woody but tan and the other one was red, both had the slant 6. Very good cars:2_thumbs_up_-_anima
I loved those when they first came out, which was before the LeBaron T&C was introduced. You could get all the power stuff in a reasonably-sized package. Great visibility, too.
Thanks - yeah, this was a great car... it had the 225 Slant 6 in it and was automatic of course. It also had A/C, FM radio and I think that was about it. I remember in 1990 I got my finger shut between the back of the front door and the front of the back door! I had my hand on the back of the front door for some reason, mom shut the back door not knowing and my finger was mashed! To this day I still have a different looking finger nail on that finger... It hurt for years after that. Grandpa still lives there and we live next door... its amazing how much that driveway has changed since 1992... I will have to take a photo tomorrow and post it.
Used to have a 77 Aspenwagon(no woodie). With a 318.True ponycar stationwagons.Solid and sturdy.Wasn't very rich when the V8 ate itself up inside. Both my wife and I are convinced,if we had credit cards at the time,we'd still have that Aspen, probably with a Slant6---fitted with Throttle Body Injection,super-stocked and a boulevaurde-rumbly exhaust.
Thats interesting and ironic, because at the same time, my grandmother had a 1978 Dodge Aspen SE wagon (white / red interior / non-woodgrain) also with the 318 V8. It was probably parked right off in front of the Volare in that photo!
Before I had the Aspen, several of my friends said that they wished they knew somebody with an Aspen,so they could ask,"So,how's your Aspen?" whenever thay saw them...While I had the Aspen,no one ever asked me that...
