    I hate 'no price' ads...........

This is a Brookwood - basically a 'Bel Air' trimmed wagon. The straight 6 would have to go, sorry.

It is a cool car. It appears to be the Biscayne wagon (which was Chevy's midline model for '58). The Bel-Air wagon was the 4dr Nomad wagon for '58 and was the top level model. The "Yeoman" was the base wagon, based on the Delray.

I was incorrect in my thinking that the Nomad would be equal to an Impala. I guess not.

    hmmm

Historically speaking, the Six should stay... Just saying. Worth more at auction with it's original Six. That said, a 348 would do it good. Or a 327 from a period Corvette. Nomad was the top of the line in 57, but started a decline in 58. Soon, it would be a base model below the Yoemen at the bottom of the page. Looking good, either way. Not a "kid car" with that interior.

Yeah, that happened in '59 with the wagons Krash - you were only one year off. lol. Impala was only a convertible in '58, for '59 the Impala had a wagon and it was the Nomad (after being a 2dr wagon in '57). Chevy did a good job of confusion with their wagon names from the 50s up through the 70s. What, with wagon names coming and going and used on different models in later years. Some I think of was the name Nomad (which was later used on the Chevelle wagons), Concours name that was on the Malibu wagons (later used as the luxury trim on the 70s Nova's), then using the Kingswood names from 69-72, then dropping again for '73. Seesh. lol.
