Greetings everybody! I am the proud owner of a 1959 Hillman Husky. I hope this car gets to be what I perceive it to be someday. I hope to redo the frontend with a Fatman front cross-member, 4 wheel disc, rack and pinion steering, narrowed rear with mini tubs, and a peppy 4.3 V6. Sadly it sits and waits for a better "change" in economy and more secure job outlook as I have too many irons in the fire to begin anymore than gathering info. I have always been a fan of two-door wagons seeing them overlooked hotrods and or grocery getters. I remember how sad I was when my dad opted for the Delta 88 instead of the 1969 Vista Cruiser with its roof windows and wished a two-door version was offered...alas. Doug
Welcome .... I blame everything on Obama-nomics ... even if he DIDNT do it LOL Everyones story, too much idle time with no money! But anyhow, welcome. I remember my mother had a hillman herrold convert .... cute little cars!
Welcome Hillfarmer and know the feeling my project has been waiting the last 6 months for me to get it done.
I didn't know what your car looked like so I googled it...cute! to the forum...try to be patient. Keep your Husky safe until the time comes, and it will. I have got my car (Fannie) waiting in our garage until her time comes. She waited all this time a little long is going to hurt one way or another. In the mean time enjoy all the new friends your going to make here.
Thanks! It is kind of cute and a well made little car way ahead of its time. I am keeping it dry in a basement with a dehumidifier so what little rust it has will not grow. The pic you viewed dosen't do justice. Try www.dougscars.com This guy has a nice one but with a Ford V8! I think the V6 will be plenty strong for me...but who know? Doug
to the wagon train, hilly. Yup...those little Hillman's are cool cars. I am DYING to see yours when it's done! The mods are awesome and the car should fly.
Good luck with the Husky, Hillfarmer. That should be a very unique wagon. Wonder how many of them are left. I'll bet just a few. Welcome.
Doug 1 of my customers drives one all the time...its got a 2300cc Ford in it and i have a 59 Thames...just so you dont feel alone cool lil piece...lets see her
