Welcome Mike! Glad to see another 390FE on the page. Love the patina on that baby. Start a "build thread" where we can follow your exploits and provide help when necessary. My own journey started in 2011 and continues to today.
Mercman, thanks for the comment. Just started some work on her today before i went to work. All i need is fluids, carburetor and the radiator rebuilt and she will be good to go. Nice hearing about your 59 colony park, those are beauties too
Welcome! My 1st Car was a wagon (72' Colony Park). Got it from my Mum. I had grown up in Detroit & 6 winters had pretty much rusted her away (The wagon, not Mum...)
Loved those '72 Colony Parks.... we had a red one growing up..... It was an accident magnet. That poor car got hit 4 times.... all repaired.. still looked good when we traded it on a Creme '76. Are you still in the Detroit area? Love the Woodward cruise!
No longer in Detroit... My Pop still lives in Monroe & I get up there a couple of times a year... Get my fix of good hotdogs & Towne Club Cola
DUDE! I am 23, and my first car was a 1963 Mercury Monterey. Not a wagon, but a 2-door hardtop. The thing looked like Swiss cheese and had one foot in the grave when I got it. Didn’t even have seats inside... I did so much research, so many junkyard expeditions, tracked down so many parts for that thing. If you’ve ever got questions about wiring, drivetrain, brakes, or galaxie-interchangeable parts, I’ve probably encountered the same questions as you. Here’s a photo of her finished. Sorry again it’s not the wagon, but the similar story was too great not to pass up.
