    A little background:

I am now the proud beneficiary of a 1963 Ford Falcon Ranchero. It has been my Father-in-law's for the past 33 years. I am making it a runner and it will be a Summer daily driver. I have been looking for wheels and tires for the thing. Well, come to find out my Father-in-law is ready to spring for a brand new set of five-spokes and tires! Sweet.

So, I had been on the lookout for tires (cuz, well they are necessary) and wheels (Cuz, well, I want some. And if I could swing it....) for the Fury ever since last summer when I exploded a whitewall coming back from a cruise night. http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5209

I have always wanted to run a set of five spokes on the Fury. Someday, I will restore it, and when I do it'll be all original. That includes tires, wheels and original hub caps. But that aint gonna happen soon.

I put a little blurb on the local Craig's list prior to the Father-in-law's "New Wheels" proclamation. So a fella calls me up and says he's got some Bullitt wheels off his Mustang (what I wanted) and that they have tires mounted on them.

    $300.

I also found in my research that Ford and Mopar share the same bolt pattern.

    "Hmmmmmmmm........."

I told the guy I would want to make sure they fit before I bought them.
He let me take one home.

So After Church the Wife (who doesn't know about the wheels/tires yet) and the boy took a nap.
Daddy went out to the garage and grabbed the jack and his impact.

Very nice looking. Can't wait to see it on the ground with all 4 of them mounted.

So how do 'splain to the wife that you got new booties for the Wagon, and not for her?

I noticed how your garage pad/floor is down. Are those expansion joints or were they prefabbed pads, dropped in place? Any leaks or breakage?

Yes indeed. That was the original plan.
But when the Father-in-law said he'd spring for a new set of wheels fer the Ranchito these became the perfect set "back-up plan"

Nice find, Orth. They sure do make a difference. How about posting a pic of the Ranchero? That's got to be incredibly rare.

My "new" wheels are the grey Anthracite color.
I saw this 64 Savoy with the 5-spokes and decided that was the direction I wanted to go.

I think the grey will look verra, varra bueno.
