My ride is a '52 Chev tin woodie. Purchased about 3 years ago in stock, running condition. Since then, pulled the six cylinder and replaced it with a 283 V8 and 350 automatic. I've always had station wagons, starting with my first car, a '55 Nomad. Since then, a few more Nomads,Fords, Plymouths, even a rare '64 Fiat wagon. Looking forward to checking out other members rides.
shark food. Why is it that every new guy joining this wonderful goup has a car that I envy? This is getting old. What a nice old Chevy. Looks like well preserved condition as in unrestored. I'm an inline six lover so the V8 is just OK. But, it's a very sensible upgrade. Especially considering the wierd drive shafts that the old Chevy's had. Plus it makes it very drivable in todays world. Most likely it can with a 216 originally right?
Nice wagon, SFJ. From the list of wagons you've owned, it sounds like you came to the right forum! Welcome aboard.
Thanks for all the positive comments. Of all the wagons I've had, this one is my favorite. It did come with a good running 216,but for everyday driving, the V8 is much more user friendly. The wagon is basically unrestored and will probably stay that way. If its too nice one tends to worry about every little scratch. Future plans include doing the exterior woodgraining and disc brake conversion. The original brakes leave a lot to be desired. If anyone has done this conversion I'd love to hear what kit you used. Thanks again John
