Hi all, Picked up this wagon this past Sept. - http://1241.ecarlist.com/web/vehicle_photos/1130125 Just had a 390 built, stroked/bored to 458 with tri-power. Dynoed this past weekend, 517HP @ 5000, 595TQ @ 3800. Looking for weatherstripping and felt fuzzies for the rear tail-gate. Thanks! John
John. Sounds like a great project. Anything with tri-power is awesome. Even a Ford! Don't tell me that's your garage and other toys.... If so I'm movin in!
Great looking wagon, love the '66 and '67 Fairlane styling. Is it an original 390 car? Enjoy the ride.
Thanks! It is originally a 289 engine, but they did come with 390's. It has 23K original miles. It was sold originally at Golden Motors Ford in Golden, CO. Sometime in the early 90's it went to Indiana/Illinois area and has been sitting in a barn/storage for the past 20 or so years. I purchased it in Illinois and now it's back home - Colorado.
Yes they did and not many ordered that way for the wagon. That 390 will fit right in there, will you keep the rest of the car stock in appearance?
Yes...., except a 427 fiberglass hood and E.T. torque thrust wheels. I am also going to have 15" steel wheels done up, painted turquoise and use the hub caps just like in the pics.
Love your wagon! The 66-67 Fairlane would be my dream wagon. I owned a 67 Fairlane 500XL with factory 390, and 66 Fairlane convertible with 289 many years ago. Let's see some pics with that 390!
aboard John! That's a sweet looking Fairlane. It's nice to see another survivor emerge. I never knew you were able to order Fairlanes with the 390 engine..other than a factory race package. I thought the 289 was it. Well, second thought, I take that back. If I recall, Ford had a GTA model Fairlane with the 390 engine. Jack
John, Nice wagon. The color is nice too. You sure don't see that shade on many fairlanes of that year especially wagons. looks like a nice one.
