Hi there. My names Denise and I own a 1960 Pontiac Catalina 9 passenger Safari station wagon. I've owned it for almost a year now. It came from Aurora, CO where it had sat in the garage for almost 30 years. A friend of mine in CO bought it, revamped the drive train with plans to flip the car. I had first right of refusal. I was looking for a wagon so I jumped at the chance. The wagon is my daily driver. I also take it to car shows, cruz nights, camping, drag racing and I've used it to push off race cars and tow them as well. My wagon has had more fun in it's short life with me then it has had the whole rest of its life. I am not new to the car scene. I also own a 1947 Oldsmobile convertible affectionly known as Big Olds which I purchased as a project in 2001. I'm looking forward to spending time here, learning about wagons and perhaps will be able to help out now and again. Without further ado here are a few photos for your viewing pleasure.
Welcome aboard - very cool rides you've got there! I like that you've used the wagon as a push-start at the drag strips! What are the plans for your wagon?
Welcome. Great wagon and great pictures. Looks like you even managed to get additional interesting wagons in the background.
Thanks for the warm welcomes fellas Nothing much more then I have already done. I put in a killer stereo with bluetooth, and have purchased spider carps for the wheels yet haven't installed them yet. I did have to replace all 5 tires and major repairs in the rear end. I've put over 10,000 miles on the wagon since mid-April and everything else seems to be just fine. Since the body is almost perfect I'm just going to leave the original paint as is. There is a few dings and dents but no rust what so ever. There has been a couple of paint touch up spots. The white wagon behind me in the brickyard photo belongs to a pal in Indy. No, but I do know Friburger placed a help post that I made on another site (his other site prior to BS) regarding photo hosting on that site without my permission. I think he moved my whole profile so it looks like I'm a member there. 123,000 miles in 9 summers
Welcome, Denise... Seen some of your posts and pics over on the H.A.M.B. Love that Olds........ Marshall
aboard Denise. One heck of an intro and some nice photos to go along with the cars. Love the Oldsmobubble convertible.
Welcome to the forums Denise. It is nice to see another old Pontiac here. There are quite a few of us although not many '60 wagons. Appreciated the introduction. It helps us keep things in perspective.
Welcome to the madness. I get the feeling you are just about crazy enough to fit right with the rest of us nuts. Love the 60 Pontiac. Beautiful car, that's for sure. It's fantastic to see the old cars being USED, not left to sit idle and look pretty. I have always figured that any old car deserves to have a few battle scars. I look at hem at the sign of a life well lived, just like the wrinkles on the face of a very old person. Hope we see lots of you around here. Enjoy.
