99 GMC/Chevy Saffari/Astro van heater controls. I've searched the net but havn't found any "help" info other than parts and how much they cost. It's problems.... Heat only comes out from dash (thank god) no matter where I place the control setting... floor, dash, etc, just comes out of the dash to windshield. High low switch has 4 settings, only works on #3 and if I switch to any other setting no heat perioud, fan stops blowing. This problem started with the AC this summer, only cold air would come out of the dash to windshild but not dash to your face. Owned the van since new, 130 thow Kilomiters, heater was junk'ish from day one in colder weather but I didn't have to run the engine a 1/2 hour on frosty mornings to thaw the windshield. 5 minutes used to do it and we are not in winter mode yet. Rad and heater core are clearly not the problem, rad is flushed and on passenger side where heater is by your feet it's hot enouph to cook a chicken, something with the controls have gone.
