Ok so about 10 years ago I had our 65 chevelle wagon painted. Car was taken apart for this - and it sat and at and sat till first of the year. Well I can not find the helper spring slide through mount that bolts to the body of the car. Spring goes through it and as you open the tailgate the spring (torsion) loads to help close the tailgate. Any one have any ideas for making or substituting something else. Spring is 1/2" in OD and needs to slide through the mount, I think the original one had a block of nylon in it.
