Yeah, the Mercury valve covers are a big deal to some folks. They are definitely nicer looking than the run of the mill covers, like what your 390 was wearing when it was in the truck. I want a pair of t-bird valve covers, but cheap. Someone else has always beaten me to them at the yards around here.

    Yep Rev, satin black.
I live on the end of a 1/4 mile gravel road that turns to powder in the summer and a mud bog spring and fall.
shiny cars just dont look good up here for very long. With only 4 acrages on the road, its not going black top any time soon. :49:

Just got back in from 3 days of putting in 2 inch lowering blocks and 2 inch lowering coils. Grabbed the camera and the batteries were dead.
The electrical is done and without the mufflers it sounds like its ready for the drag strip.

    Picks tomorrow... happy camper here!

A nice trio in the desert, like the lawnmower yard art too.

Great series on the wagon. I really like the satin black with red interior but....I love those inline sixes but the V8 is cool too. Also cool is the nomad trim on the tailgate. Nice touch.

    Great job and thanks.

Sure hate being stalled... but I've stalled.
Summer has been a busy one out and about with little shop time. Now it looks like september/ october is fast filling up too.

I have been out driving her the last couple weeks down my gravel road to the mailbox... all without plates ya know :badwords::tsk: . I'm on a dead end road so there's no traffic. It has given me a chance to git to know the mechanical a bit though and all is running smooth. And I love how the dirt on the road parts when I rev up the 390!

I did have a friend do some pin striping for me though. Just a start of what I want. Nothing too wild but it will have a surf theme.

The cool thing about living on a 1/4 mile of dead end road is I can say that I quarter mile all the cars I build. :rofl2::yikes:

Hey Lono, get that '57 licensed for the road! You will not regret it.
I put about 30 miles on the '58 today just running errands. Runs great, starts every time, turns heads and now that I have tunes**.... is a pure pleasure to drive!

(** Well, yeah... the tunes ARE an underdash 8-track. But it sounds great and is funky enough to be just as interesting as the car.)

I'm getting there. The carpet arrived last week but I'm so backed up with other stuff going on I havent got it installed yet. It looks like it'll be a month before I have real time for playing in the shop. Come then watch the dust fly!
