I bought myself another wagon, the wife absolutely fell in love with it and I don't blame her.
Its a 1988 Mercury Grand Marquis Colony Park GS that's been garage kept and well taken care of. Bought new at North Park Lincoln Mercury in San Antonio, and spent its life there with a Lt. Col and his wife. They stopped driving it sometime in 2008? And the family donated the car, which ended up at auction (which i missed) bought by a dealer who replaced the fuel tank, battery, starter, alternator, and tires, possibly more.
Well after we found her I took her for a test drive and she drives like a dream.
So we talked turkey and I drove her home.
This wagon has drawn crowds of lookers wherever she stops and lots of thumbs ups, double takes, and complements.
So without further ado, the pic about 30 mins after we got her, more will follow after a good detailing inside and out sometime soon.

Congrats! That's a very nice looking CP you have there. That color combo seems unique to me. I don't recall seeing many that color.
Looking forward to more updates and the gratuitous photo of both the wagons parked side by side in your driveway.

Its paint code 3R "Medium shadow blue metallic" the interior is a plush dark blue cloth, very pretty, and the only one i have seen in blue, mainly I've seen them in white or wheat.

OMG. I am sooooo jealous.... that is a great color. I had an ‘86 Grand Marquis in that color. I love it. What a nice car. So neat that these are still out there in that shape. Have fun with it, and again an absolutely lovely car.

Yes, great choice, and a perfect younger sib to your 'Barge.' May your sons inherit it.

Blue seems to always look good on a wagon. Hope you get many years with that beautiful Mercury.

Took the wagon (we're calling her Annie from the song Dreamboat Annie) to the mechanic to see if they could weld the air injection pipe back onto the exhaust pipes.
First thing they asked after drooling was how many miles, we told them we were told 118k... They gave it a very thorough inspection and said "they lied, its 18k" told us nothing shows its rolled the odometer, all the signs of wear shows less than 20k miles... Well after picking my jaw up off the floor... And finding out they couldn't fix the air injection pipe... Was too rusted out "like saltines" and would have to be replaced... I looked up the previous owners address and looked nearby... It was literally a grocery getter... All shopping was within a couple miles... So i figure if the last insurance card in it was right it sat up idle for roughly ten years... And their ages... He had to have retired and collecting social security about when it parked... I figure it was her wagon, if he was home they took his car and he drove, so she averaged about 800 miles a year, babied it, maintained it, but not driving it far enough didn't blow out the mostuire in the pipes, causing them to rust at the air injection... I cant prove it, unfortunately... But if my theory is right, we got a better deal than i thought. Who'd have thought I'd get a 30 year old car with less than 20k miles? Literally the old story of "she only drove it to church on Sunday"
