Hey! That's not nice! I'm thinking that it's one of those guys who left it sitting in the field, saying "I'm gonna fix it one day".
Hey! I'm a GM lover and I've scrapped them. Dealers offered more without a trade and no one seemed to want cars that didn't run so off they went to Gier's or Merrit's home for scrap autos....the junk yard.
Kind of like me saying I'm still using my grandpa ax that he bought in 1935. Handle has been replaced 5 times, and ax blade 4 times.
I just noticed it's at 7900.00 and 4 hours to go. I realized it was built on 8/2/62 but what I don't get is the Philly DSO. I dunno, maybe I was expecting L.A. or NYC for such a special car? Fourth car down the line - I'd like to know this car's story......there's much more to this thing.
Two hours left to go. 1***0 and 7***e seem to be the only serious bidders for this car. This is the only thing these two bidders have bid on on eBay in the last 30 days.
If only I wasn't so much of a loser and I had $$$, I would be the third bidder on this thing. As a Fullsize Ford fan, this thing ticks off all the right boxes for me. This is beyond my expertise, so if I had $$$$, my checkbook would be getting a workout.....
If I brought that home my kids and wife would have me commited to a mental hospital. Sadly after they got me in there I'd never get back out!
Well surprise, surprise! (as Gomer Pyle used to say). This car is back on eBay, with bidding starting at $6,500 (and one bid at that price). Bidder this time is r***2. What, the winning buyer the last time around found that the car wasn't "as described"? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Galaxie-CONVERTIBLE-427-Q-CODE-/281933619082
I'd still like to have it.....my checkbook would be lighter, but it is a holy grail for us full-size Ford/Merc guys....
By looking at the door and along the side chances are the frame is even rotted and bent. Still the rear mud grip tire on front might be worth something.
