I just picked up a 92 White Woody Roadmaster with a great body and nice interior. I want to make it into a "family" hot rod with all the comforts of home. Rather than rebuilding this motor, Im thinking of tracking down a LS motor or LT 1 out of a newer vette. Any suggestions or reccomdations?

Summer is right around the corner

    thanks

My suggestion would be to find an old Caprice Interceptor car, they have great motors! Just gotta find one with lower miles.

The Vette engine is a good choice but they don't have THAT much more HP than the regular LT1's in the 94-96 Buick wagons. You can beef them up pretty easily. But then you have to beef up the rear end. The wagons come, I think, with 2:56 gears in the back...not enough to get that wagon moving quickly. Then...the next problem is the weak tranny. They tend to go out with just the normal power train. As in all build ups...one thing leads to another. But...you CAN make these wagons GO!

If you have the money....ANYthing is possible. I do Olds 455's mostly. Put 'em in older GM wagons.

455's are awesome. My uncle Mick had a 73 Custom Cruiser with a 455, he restored it, BEAUTIFUL RIDE!

Yup...I like them. Great for heavy wagons....TONS of torque. Build 'em up and they can move a 4400 lb wagon with ET's of 12's.
