I have a wild idea...putting 60s -style wood on a late model luxury wagon.
The Ny-Doc (sp?) decals are easy to get, but what I need are the "wood" ash frame sections.

Does anyone make generic material that can be cut to length and mitered together to make a panel?

If not, does anyone have a suggestion of what I can use?

    Thanks

I agree with Cat. Newer Fords got the painted aluminum trim (faux wood). Its a PITA to do, even though its easy work. Trouble is that it wont last. If you could find some powder coat paints, or powder, and use a heatgun to get the base coat on the aluminum, you might be able to do it at far less cost than shaping real wood trim.

To do it in real wood, I'd use Ash, of course (stands up to rain, etc.), but you need a good router table, or a pin router with large diameter blades or a shaper, preferably with an overhead feed drive (mainly so you keep all your fingers.)

Dennis Carpenter and other Ford Parts retro vendors still sell the foam trim used on the old ranchwagons and the chrome button fasteners, but that's about it, other than wood or refinishing your own trim.

Flexchrome sells three widths of woodgrain molding (go through the list). It is a light woodgrain with the 3-M tape attached. I bought it several years ago and it looks like the trim AMC used on the Pacer and Concord wagons with the woodgrain option.
