Ok I'm so excited I got my rebuilt engine back into my 63 Ford Galaxie Country Sedan Wagon. I almost got everything buttoned up, but now I am stuck on new headers. I got some long tube headers for a mustang but they hit on just about everything. What do you guys do for headers? I have a 289, below are some photo's of all the crap I am trying to get around.
I'd imagine that most people only bolted on headers to a full-sized Ford using a 390 or larger engine. Therefore, what you're looking for would be rare, unless custom welded together or ordered new, if theyre even still obtainable. The next best way out would be to use stock 289 Hypo manifolds
RecklessRewards, you say you have Mustang headers. Not familiar with larger Fords but as a Mustang owner would not be surprised if the Mustang did not require specific exhaust routing because of the engine bay size.
His frame might be in the way. Since the Mustangs were Unibodies, Ford had no choice other than to incorporate a frame structure towards the outter side of the vehicle. Therefore, it's highly possible that the full-framed Galaxy's frame intrudes to where the Mustang headers are to call home. If those Mustang headers are equal-length tube types, I'd measure one of those tubes and then either weld together your own headers in that length or have a shop do it
