    Morning all,

I just thought I'd give a heads ups about a Longroof Show that is on today here in Melbourne. All long roofs welcome, but must be chrome bumpers. I realise its a very international audience, but if you are around Melbourne, get on board. Carribean Gardens from 1oam.

I'll be taking a whole of photos and will post them here when I get back. If you're on socials, check out my Instagram @66fairlane500wagon, or the event page and hastags

From what I understand, not all American-made vehicles were imported with righthand drive. If so, who performed the coversions to the rest?

    Hi Poison,

Most likely done by owners who brought them in to Australia I'd say.

OK - What's going one here? There are 4 1st-gen Falcon wagons pictured here. The one in the front on the left is obviously an Aussie-built Falcon wagon, which was made on the shorter, sedan platform over there, hence the different look of the tail light arrangement. The other three appear to be U.S. -spec wagons, but seem to have right-hand drive. Were all these imported, then changed over to RHD, or did Ford Australia adopt the longer U.S. wagon platform at some point?

    Hi guys,
Yeah, youre right. That tank was a stand out on the day.

Krash - Not too sure sorry mate, not 100% up to speed on the US vs Aussie specs. But I am pretty sure they are all Aussie built, in particular the 2 side by side. The guys that organised the show together are focused on Aussie wagons mainly. The show was open to all wagons, but this was a sub group of Aussie built stuff.

In general, Ford used quite a bit of the same parts, certainly under the skin if not panels. It was similar in the late 60's/early 70's where Aussie Falcons/Fairlane shared quite a bit of parts with US cars, sometimes the aussie ones being a year or so behind on the US versions.

    Cheers
