The bulbs are replaceable, but you will have to take it apart to find out the correct bulb. The FSM does not list it.

here is part one of two.....

if the bulbs you need to replace are for the low fuel/coolant/oil/washer fluid lights, its not too traumatic.
the bulbs are called PC161 and they are made into their sockets. you replace the socket and bulb as one action.
one bulb for each warning indicator.
changing those bulbs can be done by removint the drawer/ashtray assembly.
then you can twist out the old socket/bulb combo.
it can be done without removing the ashtray it didnt seem as easy to me.

    part two of two.....

if the lighting you need is for the temp control buttons around the display, this can be done in a similar way but it requires alot of patience and a fine touch.

i have removed the complete lower portion where the warning indicators reside for this post but you probably wont be able to working from behind the dash.

the upper portion is the part that needs to be removed to replace the 3 tiny bulbs that supply the general lighting the to actual temperature control buttons through the use of light spreading clear plasit inserts.
the 3 bulbs just twist out by pressing your finger against the socket and lightly twisting CCW about a quarter turn.

4 screws hold the tin housing to the main facia. the screws are small and i didnt have a metric socket that fit them, but a standard socket did.
i will have to recheck and post its size tomorrow.

getting it the top housing off aint bad but getting the screws back in place might break your spirit. dealing with these screws is EXTREEMLY difficult without removing the unit from the dash.

there was no part number anywhere on these tiny bulbs.
if you have any questions, just post them.
