Hello, My dad is 85 years old and still an active mechanic. He's cool. When younger he won first place in stock car races with the old jalopy he had turned into a blur of speed, performed in a country music band (playing songs like Tennessee Waltz and Hear That Lonesome Whippoorwill), moved massive amounts of earth with a bulldozer, felled a scandalous amount of trees, built our home by himself including electric, plumbing, water well, etc. and wrote poetry to boot. In his seventies he often could be found careening around sand dunes on the Oregon coast in a homely dune buggy that he had built from scratch. When the young whippersnappers with their shiny new buggies got stuck in the sand my Dad would graciously pull them out with his muscle buggy. Don't know why I shared that info. It's just that perhaps you can understand a little more about a person by knowing where they come from. I'm from the Idaho panhandle. Lakes, rivers, mountains and forests. Gun totin' citizens... I'm contrary by nature but I will try to behave while hanging out in your "shop".
Welcome aboard! Have you got one or are you planning to? We've got a few ladies here with wagons. One even does welding modifications to her hotrod wagon and her hubby's. Good storie. We now know that you've got Wagon DNA in your blood. Glad you came by.
Sounds like you Dad is somebody I'd like to sit down with over a couple of beers and listen to some great stories he must have. What an interesting character. He should write a book.
Well a big Howdy Dooty to you... That's cool about your dad and even cooler that you are Carrying On for him!!! As far as behaving...much easier said than done!!! (don't ask!!!) But I admire your courage(we all need goals). Do you have a wagon yet? Or even coveting one? These guys and gals (but everyone I consider guys-meaning people), can put you onto your dream without even breaking a sweat. I got hosed on a wagon a couple of weeks ago and they got me right back on that horse!!! I had even told my kids to leave it alone, after a 888mi. goose chase, and back. I started talking about it on the forum and suddenly...back to lookin' and just then a wagon came up for sale about 19 miles from my house. Went there with the cash and it's sitting in the Ge'rage right now. And the kicker is...it's 100 times nicer than the one I looked at!!! So, what kind of wagon flips your switches??? I'm loving the little G-bodies, but that's because we already have another g-body and I've gotten used to working on it. But...THEY'RE ALL GOOD...fun, and usually reasonable. But, I ain't tryin' to influnce anyone... Welcome abord...and what would you like us to address you as??? LJD might not sound too bad... But, that's up to you! Later and again...WELCOME !!! Bruce
