If the Porsche Panamera were a wagon, would it be any sweeter?

[IMG]Last week, Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn reportedly mooted three new Porsches to fill out the line: something beneath the Boxster, a "baby Cayenne," and a Panamera variant. When it comes to that last model, the consensus among Autoblog commenters seems to be "Give us a new 928 or 944!"

But what if instead of a coupe, we were to get a Panamera wagon? A forum member over at Teamspeed has Photoshopped what such at thing would look like, and the results are... well, have a look and decide for yourself. It would be roomy and it would most likely sell (overseas, at least), yet even though it's not the worst looker, we'd still prefer a new 928 GTS.

It still looks like a sedan to me. But give me one for free and I'll call it anything they want.:rofl2:

It's difficult to say, these days. I suppose, this otherwise 4-door hatchback would be just that, for anyone who isn't buying it just for folding a rear seat third, to accomodate skis.
Shall we establish a rule of thumb, Sir. Maybe, say if a third seat row would be roomy enough to accomodate anything larger than 3 guinae pigs, it's the beginning of a real wagon?

To me a real station wagon has a longer rear axle overhang and room to haul bulky items. Guinae pigs are not bulky. Maybe full grown farm hogs would qualify if they'd fit.
Yet it's still not a Depot Hack or suitible for fox hounds.

Farm hogs tend to squeal, Sir. Are you sure about letting them into your wagon?

Where I'd be hauling them they would squeal long. BBQ!
