One of the reasons I wasnt here much in the last week and a 1/2....
... is because Ive had a very productive 'wagon month'...:)

ready for this....I bought 8 more wagons !!:rednose:

    yup ...sad but true..:rofl2:

This is like the reverse of CE/CP's post about lost wagons...LOL

so...where to start...newest to oldest...or biggest to smallest?

    lets go big to small.

ok...this old guy has been trying to sell me his wagon for about 3 years.
But it was a bit too much moola for this old Scotsman :)
Not that 4600.oo was too much...just too much for me !

So...the phone rings about 1 month ago..(sure wish i could type in a German accent)...."deez dam Iranians...der takin over my buildink...dey tell me i have to move my cars from the dee underground...i have to get reed of dem....so....do you want it or what??????"

well in the three years he's been calling me...ive never even gone to look at it...(once again 2 much) :)

So i say..."i dunno...how much is it now?"
    He says.."make an offa"
    I say..."whats your address?"

well...its a really funny loooong story..but the sad part is the ol guy is getting dymensia...and its been a month long GONG show to finally get this car !!
He's also a real 'hoarder'...all 4 of his cars are packed top to bottom with crap...first he didnt want me to take it till it was clean...then this ...then that...oy vey...finally...theEnd of the month has arrived...He's been told to get it out!!!!!

So after about 5 failed attempts to pick it up thru the month:confused:..
    on Saturday morning...
...I just told him...Im on my way with a trailer!!!!!

So you guys that know me..know i aint gonna tell ya what I paid for it..
lets just say...this is one of the best deals Ive ever gotten in my life !!!

So heres its stats...he's the origianl owner..he special ordered it in 68...picked it up in January of 1969

its a 1969 Falcon Futura wagon,200-6cyl,auto,manual steering and brakes, drums all round...none of the trim (he didnt want it fancy)cept the roof rack :) ....and Magic Tailgate ...:), AM radio, manual windows...

Heres the good part....63,000 original miles !!!!
It hasnt been insured to drive since 1989 !
although he used to drive it around the underground parking to make sure it was OK...the heads been rebuilt for unleaded gas...200 miles ago..LOL
    new alternator,new carb,new fuel pump,new master(yet to be installed),new rad....all 200 miles ago...but that was in 1989 !!!!

In 14 years...he put 200 miles on it literally in a underground parkin lot:rednose:

so anyhoo....wait till you see the BUMPER GUARDS !!!
he put them on to push 'gliders' around a landing strip...hey...thats what he said !! :)....the he said he did it so that no one could 'fak up his boompers'...:slap:

so with out more delay...let me introduce...Mr. Blue Sky's..:tiphat:
(the girlfriend and her daughter named her) after an old ELO song..:)
..ironically...the rain started right after we unloaded it...and hasnt quit since Saturday nite !!
ANd its the 1st time in 14 years its been in the rain !!!!!:slap:
So..the pics aint great...but i had to share.

Oh...and theres another story about the other 7 comin too:rofl2:

    New Wagins..part doo

So one of ex co-workers...he has tons of cars and more money than i'll ever have:biglaugh:...calls me the other day...(cuz he loves to torment me with cars for sale)...lol

ANd says .."hey did you see that woodie wagon for sale?"
He then imforms me that its ony been on line for 3 hours....WTH?
    he laughs...we joke...i hang up...and go looking for it!!!!:biglaugh:

well....the guy selling it needs parts for his 56 Ford pickup...hmm...i smell a trade comin on...yup...DONE DEAL!!!....cept its buried in 2 feet of snow right now:biglaugh:....so its goonna have to wait till the snow melts to go get it !!

So heres its story...The seller went to buy some old tin stuff from a Scrap Yard that was closing down...and everything was gonna get CRUSHED !!

He saw this wagon and just couldnt let it go to the crusher...THANKFULLY!!!

ANd now his wife has said..."Get rid of some of this junk!!"
so it was the 1st to go...seeing that he's focused on the 50's n 60's Ford trucks he has.

Well....Im here to tell ya that Im pretty pleased to find that Im not the only dork that still believes that your word is worth something!!
See....the car is about 4 hours north of me...its snowed in...I cant pick it up for a month or so .
He says to me.."Thats fine...you say you want it ...then its yours"
I say..."do you want me to mail you some money?"
He says..."no...thats fine...get me some parts for my Truck...and we'll see ya when it thaws"

so...Ross...if you ever read this....Thanx in advance!!!

so anyhoo...my other aquisition for this month is this...
...A 1963 Mercury Meteor Country Cruiser....dont know how many owners...dont know how many miles....dont care:evilsmile:

All i know is its Ford ...its rare...it has all the wood...and its mine !!!:yup:
and it was a deal too !!

    Mr. Blue Sky's a charmer...
I like that name. Always liked that song. Saw ELO in concert a couple of times in the early 70's...

Anywhoo, nice pair to add to your collection. That Meteor is a one-year only wagon.

    Congratulations, Rev!

That Falcon is a MAJOR score!:taz::tiphat::2_thumbs_up_-_anima

The spring-thaw Mercury has a lot of potential; I hope it's got lots of great, rare parts on it. It would be awesome if it's solid enough to bring it back to life.

As for the rest of your acquisitions; you had my hopes up for a yard full of wagons, not a drawer full. :rofl2: :slap:

    Engine in the Mercury? A 221 V8 I think........or maybe the 260 V8 if you're lucky?

Also....Would that be a Canadian Mercury or U.S.?

A very good wagon month. The Falcon was a great find, but I really hope to see you fix up the Meteor. That is such a rare and beautiful wagon its just gotta be brought back from the dead. At least most of the wagon specific parts (other than trim) are shared with the 63-65 Fairlane wagon, but hopefully you won't need too much of that.
