Well figured I had best introduce myself, I have been lurking for a few years. I am located in NW Montana. I have always had the wagon bug, but it seems to be getting worse. I have a 95 Caprice wagon for my daily driver, love the power and fuel economy. My only other wagon right now is a 66 Plymouth Belvedere II with the 318 poly. The car has 48,xxx original miles and I am the third owner. The owner before me had it in his garage for 10 years, never drove it once. I've had it in my garage for 2 years. It is completely original, not an ounce of rust. I am on the fence about what to do with the Plymouth. I want to resto mod it, but feel it a shame to do so with such an original low mile wagon. Any how I will try and get some pics up. Love the sight and wagon knowledge that is here.
Welcome to the nuthouse we call home! You sound like the perfect addition to the family. I agree with you, doing anything to that gorgeous wagon seems a real shame. Suggestion for you: Add a 3rd wagon to the stable, and restomod it. There is a 70 Coronet wagon for sale now that seems a perfect candidate. It is solid, seems to be in great shape, unmolested, but a reasonable distance from pristine. It would be a great basis for a restomod, since it is in need of some attention anyway. The joy of restomod is that nothing is permanent, so you can always put it back to original if you choose. Somehow, 3 wagons in the stable seems like a pretty good start to a neat collection of cars, too.
yup...thats almost too pretty to mess with maybe just wheels and altitude adjustment is all she needs to the joint
Beautiful car man! Welcome to the forum, I think I would leave that survivor alone, those are very hard to find in that condition.
Thanks for the welcome. I have been eyeing that 70 wagon in the for sale section. I am really liking the late 60's early 70's wagons, they have a mean muscle look. Have been thinking of getting rid of the 66 Bevedere and getting a wagon I can resto mod with a clean conscience. Here is a pic of my last caprice wagon that was my daily.
One more pic, this is my current driver. Love driving it, gets about 24mpg highway, much better than my powerstroke.
Picked up another wagon, a 68 Coronet 500. It's in pretty rough shape, but a perfect candidate for a rat rod wagon. Here's some pics.
