Hot Pursuit Tires! ;) My brother's Nissan Crapfinder failed inspection because his two front tires were shot. He called me for help, so at lunch I drove over to my favorite used tire shop in Pflugerville.

Not only did the have a good set of BFG's for Dave, they had also just gotten a shipment of P-Ville Police take-off tires. Well I needed tires before the big road trip, and he made me a heck of a deal, so I cherry-picked the best ones and now the Roady had a great set of Cop-Spec Firestone Firehawk GT-Z Pursuit tires on it. HA! I stole Buford's tires!

I'm sure they're 'speed-rated', but what's the tread wear rating?

And a road trip? Do tell........

I have not looked up the ratings on these yet. I've run police take-off Goodyear Eagles and had great luck with those, so hopefully these will wear as well.

As for the road trip, taking my wife, sons, and parents to Washington DC and then Virginia Wagonfest at the end of October. 9-days and 3200 mad miles in the Roadmaster! Ha! Can't wait! :drink:

Time for a total weekend re-detail!:rofl2:

We used to use two of those turtle pods on our Chevy van. You can store a lot of car parts and junk in those.:yahoo:

I never got more than a summer out of Eagle RSAs and found them expensive to replace.

Most police pursuit tires are at least an H speed rating, good to 150 mph. On the square Crown Vics, they specified a 225/70R15 100H, and the Pirelli P3000 was rated for 85,000 miles in that size and rating. The Comp T/A HR-4 was a 98H rated tire, and only rated for 50,000 miles of tread life, although I did get a full 60,000 out of them with no issues at all. My problem with Goodyears is that I have yet to wear a set out! I've had every other problem you can have with a tire, including tread delamination, but I've never had them last long enough to wear out!
