Don't you get a chuckle out of what a contrast the old/new is in your driveway? I always did when I lived at home!

My niece drives a black Ford Escape and loves it. Her Dad had a Jeep Liberty and can't believe how much more substantial a vehicle the Escape is. Good luck with it.

    Remember When?

Remember the days when people bought a new vehicle and they talked about the size of the engine, the horsepower, how many carburators it has, the new fourspeed stick? :icon_drive:The low rearend gears and posi?:chirp: Now it's like talking about your favorite recliner and all the bells and whistles to see and hear things which have nothing to do with gettin from point A to point B in X amount of minutes.:character0182:

To totally highjack my own thread....
......Remember when you got it new and you drove it till it failed, and if it didn't fail or wouldn't die you took care of it and maybe gave it a paint job??

I've been around this truck since fore ever, in it's hay day it was the company rig to die for. Made for working out of town in but f*** nowhere, I LOVE this old beist!! 10 foot hand brake, slitter, hoists and chain for 3000lb coils of metal and the panel machine it's hauled all these 20+ years is just off to the left. This rig for the last 10 years plus has done nothing but jump from small island to small island as a work horse. It came back for it's yearly motor viehicle inspection and only racked up 200KM ( 120 miles). We're "pimpin" the old girl out for another 20 years of small island hopping service.

Thats our summer help working, great girl, gives 100% all day everyday.

Big Blue is now gona be "Big Green"

10 foot handbrake! :biglaugh: They've had those since forever!:biglaugh: Still wraps around the driveshaft on that one too? I used to drive a 1953 5 ton for our junkyard. Dad drove the newer 1962 5-ton! Darn things were like a rolling monkey cage. Your arms would be flailing all over the place, especially if you hit your knuckles on the dash, when shifting. :rofl2::rofl2:
