Hi all I’m John just moved to Lake George Ny area from southern Connecticut. I don’t currently have a station wagon however my first car was a 1969 Ford country squire 390 engine color was new lime with a very dark green vinyl interior, it was my moms old car my parents took good care of it but the New England winters took its toll with rust. After the frame went I picked up a 1969 Ford xl convertible from a local junk yard i transplanted the drive line from the wagon and salvaged what I could for parts I could use on the xl that was back in 1977 so the old wagon was not in high demand sadly most went to the crusher, I hate to admit but the interior was perfect all the woodgrain fiberglass trim was intact and in good shape but at the time it was just an oldrusty wagon. Now I would love to findanother 69 country squire or even a 70 as I did have one of those at a later date. Fornow I like reading about others cars and looking at photos. When the time comes that I can pic up a wagon I will certainly post some photos. Thanks again for the welcome.
    John

Welcome aboard John! Sounds like you have a love for the classic wagons. Is the Mustang you DD?
Good luck in finding your 69 country squire.

Hey thanks for the welcomes! Yes I’m def into the classic pretty much everything. I am more of a Ford guy but have owned and appreciate most other makes and models. My wife asked me years ago which car would be the one favorite , no such thing as just one... yes the mustang is my dd but only when it’s nice out , I have an older Chevy k1500 Silverado I drive when the weather is bad. This mustang will be my 8th over the years. I bought it last fall it’s an 07 had 40k on it never raced or wrecked no paintwork very tight and very clean in out and under. This body style combines the retro looks of several older models I love. That said when ever I find the right wagon it will just be an addition not a
Replacement. Thanks again for the welcomes !

We can’t all be perfect:stirthepot: nice mustang though! Although I’d rather drive your truck! There’s a lot of good wagons that come up for sale on here just check the box in the classifieds to receive emails every time one comes up. This way you can have a good idea (if you don’t already) of market value. Welcome aboard!

Haha yeah not perfect but remember Ford guy = close to perfect (re-stir the pot a little more) . Thanks on the mustang I do like it a lot and to show my imperfect side a bit I did have a 25th anniversary RS Camaro convertible for a couple years . I like watching classic car adds and pricing so I’m aware of how much they’ve gone up in price over the years. My wife and I are in the middle of a move to NY from CT into a new house so if I want to live to see my next birthday I will have to wait a bit before I come home with another car. Wife’s a good sport when it comes to me and cars but I know when to lay off lol . I will get what I want in due time. Thanks for the welcome Grizz !

    welcome
if you can't tell already this forum is pretty lively. Good luck on the move, spent a lot of years in Connecticut, West Hartford, New Canaan till it truly became the land of the rich and those that served them.
and by the way Grizz has a Mercury (Ford) Colony Park wagon - so how perfect is he?

    welcome hope you hang around

Thanks Mak, I’m good with lively I’ll fit right in, I hear ya on CT, I grew up in Windsor lived in Manchester, Willington, Wolcott and last House was in North Haven I liked it there best, believe it or not it’s a farm town nothing like the other Havens but the land of the rich and those that serve has come to the point the servers can’t afford to live there. Some family issues in NY came up so we are moving there to help take care of family, just waiting on the house to be finished, hopefully be there this weekend. I noticed Grizz has a Merc lol I think I’ll get along just fine with all the wise guys here, I like it like that.
