Hello everyone, obviously I am new since I am posting here. I am trying to find out if there are people interested in the '72 Kingswood staion wagon. Green exterior/ leather interior, 77,800 miles. Not a scratch on the outside or a spot inside. It was only driven on sundays to church and back, and on very rare family outings. It was my grandpa's pride and joy. He has since left us for a better place, and none of us know how to get this car a new owner that would care for it and love it as much as grandpa did. IF anyone has a moment to direct me to some good places to look, please dont hesitate to respond!
my folks promised to take some photos today. She has been kept in the garage in between drives, so its been out of the weather all this time.
I was watching one of my all-time early Eastwood favourites, Hang 'Em High videos last night. There's some really tough spots in there, that my wife covers her eyes, when they come around, usually. This time, the one that really got her is when the dog was shot. She just couldn't bear it. She figured Clint had shot the poor animal, until she realized it was the guys from the house, cause Clint was empty-handed when he came down from the tree. She's a huge Eastwood fan. But she wouldn't have forgiven him, if he had killed the dog. Anyway, why would you pick a Handle like convict83? Nobody's gonna ask except some clutz like me. And a couple of other active or retired military folk who already have welcomed you. It just seems too distracting from all the open friendship we offer here all the time. EDIT: I got hauled in once for a confrontation with some union scabs and let go once the cafuffle was settled. I owned the company and supported the union, but one of my managers got ambitious and figured he'd stir things up. He quit the next day, while I was in the hoose-gow. We do dumb stuff and move on. No long tale. It's just that the name bugs me. Sorry. Your wagon was really popular up here in Canada, and in the mid-west (North of North Dakota), there's probably quite a few in farmers' fields that would have parts. If you need anything, we hope to start cruising the backroads in another month or so, looking for what's around. We didn't have that much roadsalt in these parts until after the mid-seventies. Enjoy the site.
Wow, Stormin! I am not sure from your post I should change my nickname, or just satisfy everyone's curiosity and move on. I was so impressed that so many people took the time to say hello when I joined this site, it means a lot because I am sure you boys have all known each other a while and I am the new person. So if it helps, I got Convict on my first deployment. Its not all that cool anyhow. I had to do community service for getting some speeding tickets, and everyone got a two syllable "handle". Mine was convict. The other part, growing up, my favorite number was either eight or three, so I used both. I hope everyone still welcomes me here, and is no longer distracted by my name. And I REALLLY hope to find a loving home for our car.
I didn't mean to offend you. It may be just me. I served too, and they called me Spit-Shine. I was good at it - made a few bucks at it too. Anyway, sorry to offend and thanks for the polite response. Seriously.
So you're wanting to sell this gem of a Chevy? Let's see... It's Canadian, don't know if they'd charge you anything. I doubt it. http://www.buyandsell.ca/index.php This one is too, but they also sell and advertise in a few US states, so it might be free: http://www.buysell.com/Brand/BuySell/Splash.aspx This one is a Car only web-classified from Canada, but you'll see that there's a lot of US collectors: http://www.lidstonepub.pe.ca/ The website name says it all: http://ww2.collectorcartrader.com/ I don't know much about this one, but... http://www.buyclassiccars.com/ You might get roasted in this one, because its mainly Fords and Mercurys, but there is one GM ad in there: http://www.wingedmessenger.net/classifieds.htm And if you have second thoughts and decide to hang onto it: http://www.autorestorermagazine.com/ar/
Don't forget to check the WANTED sections, too. There's a lot of folks looking for a good solid wagon.
One more free ad site in the US: http://www.unclehenrys.com/ You can use the drop-down box and look at the 2500 + Auto ads (top right).
