I have just joined the forum.
We do not own a wagon yet but are starting to look for something special to tow one of our vintage trailers.
Does anyone tow a vintage trailer?

    Welcome to the forum 48F

A bunch of folks here tow vintage trailers with their vintage wagons. We do. A 1951 trailer behind the 1957 wagon.

    Glad you found us.

:Welcome:to the wagon train, 48f. Yup....there are several here that have wagons that tow vintage trailers. Silverstreams seem to be the popular choice for many.

Do you have any preferences as to years, make, etc? Do you already have a vintage trailer and if so, do you know the weight? How far are you willing to travel to get the right wagon?

What ever vintage wagon you get you'll need to have a quality trailer hitch installed if there is not one on already.

The number of vintage wagons that show up at vintage trailer events, such as the Tin Can Tourists events in Mission, BC, and Deming (not TCT, just a fun camp-out), and Lynden, WA as examples, is continuing to grow. Young families who are finding them a great alternative to vans and suvs, and folks who have been around wagons all their lives and still enjoy them.

You might want to check out the Tin Can Tourists website if you haven't already to get an appreciation for what people are using. It runs the full spectrum, but the biggest thing people do today is upgrade the brakes to front disc, put transmission coolers on them, and make sure the tranny itself is in good shape. Other than that they are pretty much good to go if you buy a good one. If you locate a project be aware that unique to wagon parts are typically harder to find.
