Hello All! I just bought my 1st station Wagon a few weeks ago. Its a 67 Ford Ranch Wagon with whembeldon white paint and blue interior. I fired it up briefly an it purred like a kitten. The tank needs cleaned and treated and I probable clogged the fuel pick up screen leading to it cutting off after a few seconds. The interior is near mint. The carpet is faded and the dash is cracked. The only serious issue with the car is with rust under neearly every piece of trim and the aft lower portion has it the worse by far. Aft frame rails have big sheets of rust flaking off, the "trunk" area is paper thin and several ribs are rusted through, the quarters are swiss cheesed and the LH quarter has tons of bondo. I brought it home for $600. How do yall think I did? I'll post pics as soon as possible.
Considering scrap prices now, you did well. Work on it when you get time and perhaps you will have a nice looking wagon-By the way
Welcome TABrinn! Take some pics of that '67! We want to see it! :2_thumbs_up_-_anima Congrats on the wagon, and glad you joined us here! David
to the wagon train, tab. We love to see project wagons brought back to their glory! Or, will you just drive it as is? Got pix?
Sad but true. I lived in Miami, FL before here and they told me to take the american flag with me when I left.
I posted some pics up in the Gallery section. For some reason the moderator has to approve pics before they can be posted to a thread?!? I'd like to do a frame off build to ensure I've erradicated all traces of cancer. Nothing too fancy though. It'll be the official family hauler. I can't fit 2 car seats in the back of my 03 extended cab Sierra without me & my wife's knees being all up in the dash (I'm 6'1" and she's 5'10"). We just had our 2nd child 2 days ago so it's kinda an issue! We want to have the car safe enough to manuever around the nut job drivers and reliable enough to take cross country to visit our families for the holidays. This will be the last time we can afford to fly due to my oldest turning 2 before next holiday season and we'll be forced to buy 3 tickets I'd like to bring the body back to "as new" shape, repaint it factory whimbeldon white, replace the carpet, and dash pad. In time I'd like to install a flip down DVD player in the ceiling behind the front seat and as the family expands further, another in the back. That'll entertail the kids on those cross country trips. Full auidio system to compliment any music style. For rolling stock, I'll sport the black steeies w/ skinny whitewalls and chrome spider for now. I'd like to upgrade to a set of 20" American Racing Salt Flat Specials in the future though. I'd really like to have it laying frame on an aired out suspension tucking 20's, and a blown big block sticking out where the hood used to be! I have to remind myself though... its the family car.
Hi Tabrinn, sounds like you picked up a cool family wagon, are you able to do some of this work yourself? Congratulations on the new family member...and the new infant.
