Just new here & looking forward to exchanging pictures, stories & technical info & experience! My Wife & I (actually her wagon ;)) picked up a '77 Buick Estate Wagon with a 403 from the original owner in March. Had lots of papers, unfortunately no window sticker, service records & the original little Nebraska title. It was a special order car with the 403, crank windows, vinyl seats, no rear facing seat, am radio, crank windows, no woodgrain or roof rack but tilt column & power door locks. It was originally Orange metallic, but he had it repainted in a honey/copper several years ago. Im currently making repairs on the A/C and some other little issues due to age & 126000 miles.

Thanks everyone! It's been interesting to look around the forums...lots of good info and a refresher course for some things that I haven't seen in years! Its a pretty cool experience with this car....my Dad & Mom bought a new Impala sedan in '78 (I was in the 4th grade) and this wagon is so similar that it brings back a lot of memories!

That's awesome. Amazing how these cars can be time machines.

Can anyone show me a picture of the hinges & latches on the tailgate of our wagon? I tried to swing it out to the side & it dropped a bit. I can still lay it down but I don't think its latching on the upper left. Btw...I did find a short bushing & a pin on the ground, looks like its part of that mechanism, but I don't know where it came from.

Wow, I’d love to have a 78 and with the 403! I like the front end better on the early cars, like yours. And I’d much rather have a 403 than the 307 my car has!

It is pretty cool! The fact that it hasn't been subjected to demo derby or some other calamity is amazing...lots of good ones have gone that route. Do you have any pictures of yours?
