Yikes Fordman, sorry to hear you're having to go through this. From SF's description, it sounds like a horrible thing. I hope you're feeling better.

Continual calls to the V.A. FINALLY produced results (y). Got a call yesterday from the gal who does the scheduling for urology/surgery. She said she got my message, ALL 3 OF THEM, & had talked to the dr. They should call me later in the day or tomorrow (now today). Got a call from the dr. later yesterday afternoon. Report in at 6 A.M. Thurs., nothing to eat or drink after midnight Wed. Probably be late, but they will get me in & do it. Stay overnight & go home sometime Fri. Hopefully go back to the job Mon. A.M. is my plan. Started my route today, forgot how much those short buses bounce. Made it through my A.M. & mid-day. Told them they would have to cover my P.M. Came home & took the 2 leftover EXTRA STRENGTH Vicodins. Almost asleep now, trying to peck (can't type even when I'm NOT doped up) this update out. See all y'all later. Quitting while I can still semi-function.

Glad to have you back. Sorry to hear about your woes. My hometown's aquifer sits in a massive limestone deposit. A teaspoon of water left out will turn to white powder in hours. We're heralded as the kidney stone capital of the world. A former co-worker was passing 2-3 stones per month for the entire year we worked together. I've never had to deal with it but having watched him makes me pretty sympathetic to any who's suffering with them.

Okay folks, home & kicking back for a while. Stone is gone, go back Fri. (1 week) to have the stent removed. Thanks again everybody for your concern & prayers. Doubt this will be my last kidney stone, HOPEFULLY it will be the last that requires surgery. Far as I'm concerned. 10 millimeters was about 11 too big.

Glad to hear you're healing. So, is there not some dietary regimen, supplements, water filters, etc you can use to lessen the chance of a recurrence? Pardon my ignorance on this subject, I'm pretty naive(pronounced "nave" per Barney Fife from the Andy Griffith Show) about kidney stones other than knowing they hurt like hell.

From the little I've larned----drinking beer is supposed to help! Sounds like a good excuse anyway. And if you drink enough you won't care or feel the pain. altho beer makes me urinate and I don't think that's a good thing with those stones. Stoned! Sounds like another good word at times like those! Get stoned. As far as Obama and his plans, I've already got enough pains in lower parts of my body thinking about him!

Haven't been told anything yet. LIVE on Mtn. Dew & everybody swears that causes them. Asked one of the drs. & she said NO. That didn't break my heart to hear a NO. See IF they have anything to say when I go back Fri. as far as what I should/shouldn't do/eat/drink, etc.
