I'm just loving the manual crank tailgate, that's one thing you almost never see anymore. Not sure why the license plate is blacked out on an old photo ;-)
At my age now i don't think I'd make out to good dog piling in the back of the wagon, but as a kid it was fun.
That is a great picture. So much fun bunched up in the back of that wagon. A load of memories being made. I wonder how many of those kids owned wagons when they grew up. It was riding in my families wagons that locked in my fixation with them. It wasn't just the kid hauler, it was the family truck, the fishing camper if it rained and the tent got soaked, it was the pride of my father who washed and waxed his wagons frequently and where we learned the rules of a clean car and regular maintenance. I remember following other wagons with kids piled in the back and hollering and waving at each other. I miss those days but at least I have them in my mind to relive. I feel sorry that today's kids don't have those wonderful memories growing up in a wagon family. Thanks for posting the picture. You made my evening.
I never truly grew up in a wagon; but yet here I am, on a wagon forum, singing the praises of the all-around best car in car history.
I had picked up a bottle of 16 year old cask strength (140 proof) single malt when we were 16 years into the mortgage on the house and it sat in a nice cool spot in the basement until we had a mortgage burning party a few years later. Everyone had some and all was good.
I think most of them, because that's me second from the left, kevdupuis next, orthermannJ peaking out, that toothy grin has got to be 60mercman and everyone should recognize yellerspirit beaming on the end. I think that is Silvertwinkiehobo's one eye that's barely visible. Safari57 are you driving with Cat riding shotgun? But I'm not sure who is left of me??? maybe PassatMama?
Niiiice. I inherited a bottle of 15-year-old Kentucky bourbon twenty years ago when a family friend passed away. He had bought it about twenty years or so before his passing, which is where my comment came from. I swear, that bourbon needed nothing, just straight up, and soooooo smoothhhhhh....
At my age Kevin I’m not keeping it to age. I just forgot I bought it, and found it in the back of the cupboard.
