Never rode in a real cop car until yesterday. Andy bought one to replace his wife's car. What a fine riding performer! A small V8 police detective 1996 Chevy. Black rubber flooring. Velours interior buckets. And go like stink!

Clean and solid. One of the finest police vehicles I've ever seen, anyway.

Smooth, quick, posi-trac, PWR windows, locks, AC, nice stereo. Very nice, low-miler. Well Done Andy.

And yes, it does push you into the seat when you hit it!

    :D Yup, it's a keeper! Had it rust-proofed yesterday.
A step up (or two) from the little Merc Topaz it replaced. :burnout:

Did he handcuff you and make you ride in the back seat?
How else could you compare it to the other police cars you've ridden in?
    :D

Kind of a rare bird since GM stopped making B-bodies. It's cool to have found a cop car with low miles. It has 168,000 kilometers, which for a '96 is pretty low, hardly driven really. Most of the Crown Vics I looked at were a lot newer but had way higher miles and were looking pretty beat.

I still have the police divider cage out of my Crown Vic if you're interested.

Andy, there is a Yahoo group for B-Bodies there are several groups but look through and look for CD Smiley name. There is a lot more info from redoing a headliners to which body bushings to order to make them handle better. There are a lot of cheap tricks or free mods you can do to make your 9C1 out handle a lot of newer cars right down to putting in a 4 or 5 manual trans if you want.

SS, the guy can't sleep as it is. Between the Fairmont to rebuild and this cruiser, he's probably worn off his finger prints shopping on Ebay! :rofl2::rofl2:

No kidding, I just got a factory service manual for it.
I posted an offer on ebay last night, and won, and the guy was in Morden MB!
He dropped it off this morning. $50!
