I am stationed out in the Mojave Desert at Ft Irwin in the Army. I have realized my dream is to get a 67-68 Country Squire. The plan is to use it to tow a similar era Travel Trailer and take the wife and four kids camping!

Until it happens I have the internet and have enjoyed the forum so I thought I'd join!

Will you be in the desert long? It sounds very isolated.

I googled it...[IMG] it is isolated!

I'm not sure your going to find your station wagon there  maybe a covered wagon...

[IMG] the kids might like it. :bouncy:

:Welcome: stay for awhile maybe you might find it here? :yup:

Welcome Metatron. We have a member who's doing an incredible job on restoring his '67 Country Squire. He's been working on it for a while and is paying amazing attention to detail. Let me see if I can find it and I'll post it.

I found it. Here it is:

Enjoy! It's 54 pages long and you don't want to skip any of them, so set aside some time for yourself that you don't miss anything!

    Welcome, Metatron118....

(For those who don't know where Ft. Irwin is, it's about 10-20 miles east of Barstow, CA, of I-40...that's the road you would take to get from LA to Laughlin, Nevada) Desolate place. Where the army trains soldiers for Iraq conditions)

    Thanks for protecting us.

We've got a lot of members with those type of wagons you mention Seen a few out there available. And with some luck, you'll be able to find a decent one nearby. Will a '65 Mercury Colony Park fill the bill. I know we've got a member (in Redlands?) with one for sale....
    ..............................................
    EDIT:
That one I mentioned above is around here somewhere. Keep looking.
    But I did find this:
    http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15008
Seller seems very motvated. If you go for it, we might be able to work something out with relaying the wagon down south. I'm about 250 miles south of this wagon.
    ..............................................
    EDIT #2:
Found the one in Redlands. Seller is a member here. Forget his screen name....

Thanks for the kind welcome! It is remote out here, but I get paid to drive all over the desert!

@ Krash: thanks for the links, the Commuter gives me something to think about and I hadn't seen it before.
@Snooter: thanks for the reading material, that will get me motivated!

I have a '66 Ford wagon. I'd like to someday find a trailer and head west. Welcome to the group.
