Hello fellow wagon lovers, I am tbirdbrian from Monroe, Michigan. As you might be able to deduce from my username, I am into Thunderbirds. I collect 'em, I part 'em, I restore 'em. I have had dozens of T-Birds over the years from a 1957 up to a 1991 SuperCoupe. I currently have a Dusk Rose '57, a Vintage Burgundy '66 convertible and a Sapphire Blue '66 hartop with a 428. I also have models, promos, posters, color trim books and all the other paraphernalia that go with a car obsession.

Much to my wife's amusement, I have also always loved wagons. Especially the late 70's Country Squires. Something about those big boats just brings back my suburban childhood. But much to my wife's horror, I recently bought a full size station wagon as my daily driver.

I sold my worthless Honda CR-V (too small, too underpowered, lousy gas mileage) and bought a 1991 Mercury Colony Park LS. I looked at a couple of 70's wagons, but I wanted something more modern with working A/C and cruise for my daily driver. I found my Colony Park "Connie" on Craigslist in Chicago and bought her on the spot. She was a pampered one owner original in beautiful Garnet Red clearcoat metallic with Current Red deluxe cloth interior. I was thrilled to find a '91 (the last year for a REAL Ford wagon) and I was glad to find one in a color other than white, tan or beige.

Now I am on the trail of an older wagon to restore and enjoy. I would also love to find local gatherings of wagons to prove to my wife that I am not the only crazy one out there!

I look forward to working with you,
    -Brian

    Welcome Brian, :Welcome:
Your T-birds sound wonderful! Dusk Rose is my favorite color on a '57...amazingly beautiful! I have a '61 Continental conv (awaiting resto) in Summer Rose. Almost as pretty.

Good choice on the Colony Park. What do you have in mind for an older wagon?

Nice wagon, Brian. I've got an '87, so I know you're going to love your '91 as a daily driver. The ride is second to none and it's so comfortable. Enjoy it.
Your tbirds sound pretty cool, too.

    Welcome to the forums!

My first car was a 1978 Thunderbird Diamond Jubilee Edition, in the silver/blue color. Loaded, other than the T-roof or moonroof option. Always loved Thunderbirds since then.

Now I have a '78 LTD Country Squire, its my third Ford wagon, and my second Country Squire. They are great road cars in their own right. When its not snowing here in Chicago (lota road salt) I drive my '78 up to Wisconsin and down state IL. I never feel tired, or worn out from driving the lounge on wheels.

If you want a T-Bird Wagon, then why not a Woody?

Thanks Silverfox and Steve-e-d for thinking of me and trying to reconcile my T-Bird and Wagon fetishes. But the effort is unnecessary. Besides, I have an MGB, too, and I don't even want to think of the freakish bastard child those three cars would produce.

I have seen the 2 tone '62 Vista Bird before. I don't like what they did to the interior but the body mods were well done and well thought out. It was offered on eBay several years ago but I don't remember many details.

But if you're gonna go fabricating, you might as well get wood. This '61 Woody Wagon was available in Socal a couple years ago. It would definitely look good with some surfboards and some bikini clad blonds.

    I also knew a guy in Colorado that had a '62 T-Bird Ranchero...but that's for a different forum.

    Later,
    -Brian
