Folks... I 99% sure I got it. Sent the downpayment and it's confirmed... here it is http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160295212723 Attached a my fav pic of it.. -- needless to say I'm pretty happy.... the search is over. I got a wagon that has a very nice color combo, the woodgrain, gold, beige vinyl top is a top combo! The wagon is pretty loaded option wise, it has the all important power windows along with a whole load of other nice options such as light indicators, cornering lights, 40/60 split seat etc.. Buickly Dyna
geez Dyna...maybe you and i should open a car lot!! keep it up...you'll balance me on the other side that thing is a beauty!!!..congrats
Thanks Folks, I think I will be very happy with it. The owner sent me some really high res pictures and it look really good. A good deep detailing of the exterior and it will look really good. There is TLC to be done interior wise, mainly in plastic covers that has deteriorated (armrest on sofa and B-pillar lower cover). The dash need some repair and there are the normal touch ups. The worst work is under the hood. The whole front clip need to come off so you can get to it. Plating the bolts, painting what should be black black and so forth and so on. It's nothing I will do right away, I will just spray it with oil so it doesn't rust mean while. The interior and exterior small jobs are something that can be done and doesn't take too much time.. Cheers Dyna
Oh, so you was the winner?! I had been watching this auction (but not lately, as I have been caught up with the election junk, etc), but wondered who the winner was! Well, I know you have been looking for awhile and glad you got one! This is a nice one and the nicest thing is that not only does it have the power options you wanted, it also has alot of other options. This looks like its loaded to the MAX! Good luck and enjoy it!
Dyna, I know we discussed a bit of this before, but can you tell me how the whole transport thing is arranged? I mean, you say it will be spring when it arrives, does that mean it will be stored somewhere? And do you have an agent arranging everything, like pick up, transport to harbour, transport to England, customs etc, or do you have different people for that? If I am prying too much, just say so, but what are the costs for you involved? I know these are lot of questions, but just seeing the ease at which you (dare to) buy cars in the States, makes me thing if that is not a route to go. I regulary check the oldstationwagonsforsale.com, and I see often very nice examples coming buy for a relative low price!
importing an older car from the States is easier than you even can imagine.. Right now I'm in the middle of getting another one from there (no wagon this time) @Dyna: maybe a small photo in your thread on the AACA board as well??
Pleazz, pleazz, let me in on the big secret!!! But seriously, would you care to expand on that remark? And what would be your new toy, if I may ask?
Hehe Yea I will do soon.... I have not yet decided if I still going to go with another wagon I kind of have half way there so to say... Cheers Dyna PS: can you tell Senri about the import tax in the Netherlands, like when it's 25 years and older there is no VAT just import duty.
