Thanks for adding me, I finally figured out how to post! I am the second owner of a 79 impala 5.0 it’s in great shape! It came with a pile of parts. I put in a new master, and radiator, cap rotor and igniter. This thing even came with a CB! Does anyone have a good recommendation for a carb replacement. I just want to do a stock 2 barrel, it is my daily so I just want it reliable for now.. I figure I can rebuild the old one as a spare.. also I’m looking for a roof rack, and some rear facing seats if anyone has some theyde like to sell!

Welcome to the Station Wagon Forums, Taterski!

That '79 Impala wagon appears to be in nice overall shape. As to your question on replacement carburetors, check with the Edelbrock company. I had carb troubles with the 4-barrel on my former '81 Pontiac Safari (also a GM 'box wagon') and a shop replaced it with one built by Edelbrock. No new intake manifold was needed. It was a direct 'factory replacement' carb. I suspect they might also have a 2-barrel model as well (but I haven't checked).

    Good luck with your wagon!

    Good evening from Nova Scotia.
Great looking wagons. I see why you're looking for rear facing seats, your road buddies are going to need seat belts.

    welcome aboard.
